Kassie Thornton

is a queer and sincere creative powerhouse — think Brené Brown meets Kristen Wiig. An award-winning actress, writer, and director, Kassie grew up in a small Kansas farm town and surprised everyone by choosing acting over joining the Army after completing boot camp at Fort Knox. (She found her college, Cal State Long Beach, by googling “beach colleges!”)

Her critically acclaimed one-woman show, That Don’t Hurt My Feelings None, directed by Liz Patrick (Saturday Night Live), premiered to rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, earning 4.5 stars, and went on to sell out its Los Angeles debut at Dynasty Typewriter in 2024.

Kassie cut her teeth in comedy with The Groundlings and UCB, performing at The Comedy Store and The Ice House, and made history as ABC’s youngest primetime director with Wife Swap. Her screen credits span NBC, Netflix, HBO Max, ABC, MTV, and Paramount+. Her most recent film, Scrambled, premiered at SXSW, was released by Lionsgate, and is now streaming on Hulu.

She currently appears in The Pitt and is returning for Season 2, and will co-star in the upcoming CBS Yellowstone spinoff, Y: Marshals, premiering this spring. Additional credits include Pretty Little Liars: Summer School (loop group) and a national Ford commercial.

Off-screen, Kassie is a professional speaker and moderator, passionately advocating for LGBTQ+ communities, and a certified life coach specializing in positive psychology.

Kindness is her compass, and sincerity is her superpower.
